Upper Coast Fishing Villages of Maine
Upper Coast Maine, a very unique place, is, according to Gary where the real Maine starts - “Down East” as the locals like to call it. Away from all the glitz and glitter of the lower part of the state, its genuine down-home feel instantly draws you in. Every harbor and town is different, yet very photogenic, and it is as if you have just stepped back fifty years in time.
Itinerary
August 14: Home - Bangor, Maine

August 15 - August 17: Maine Coastline
Sunrise in picturesque harbor villages and scenic Maine coastlines is the focus for these three days. One of Gary’s favorite harbors is Stonington, comprised of four or five smaller harbors, each a little different. Gary has access to a great pond filled with flowering lily. The area around Blue Hill is very hilly with some excellent views of the bay. It is also covered with blueberry fields, making it even that much more picturesque. Sunrises arrive fairly early, but are well worth the effort.
Thursday morning after our morning shoot, we will head over to Acadia National Park, checking into our hotel, then heading out for an afternoon and evening shoot.
August 18 - August 19: Maine Coast and Acadia National Park
We leave early for a sunrise shoot on Cadillac Mountain. We will work our way along the looping road, photographing the famous coastal area. There are many ponds and harbors in and around Acadia as well. Gary will know where the best opportunities are for some great images. Mount Desert Island, where Acadia is located, is very diverse, offering something for everyone.
August 20: Bangor, Maine - Home
