“Connie's unique approach in the "Healing Spirit of Ireland" created a spaciousness that invited each of us into our own personal journey, using photography to express that journey. Within that spaciousness, an amazing connection with the group was created in a variety of ways. Connie's inviting and gentle leadership brought new light to both my photography and my journey."

“Connie encouraged us to look with more than our eyes when we photograph, to find the Spirit of Ireland... She was right. This was done in conjunction with Olcan who took us to the most wonderful, beautiful non-tourist places there were in County Mayo."

Connie Reider
Connie Reider is an accomplished professional photographer, specializing in portraiture, and events in the Washington, D.C. area for over 25 years. Her strength is creating a relaxed environment where people can feel safe to be themselves; the resulting images reflect authenticity, spontaneity, emotion, and inner spirit.
In 1995, Connie’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She used her photography and writing to help heal and later published these in a book, “In Shadow and Light...Looking for the Gifts of Cancer”. In 2004, she co-founded The F. Holland Day Center for Healing and Creativity where she acted as the creative director. In 2007, she designed INscape, The Healing Art of Photography, a groundbreaking two day workshop using photography as a metaphor to investigate the shadow and the light of our lives. INscape’s process shows that when we photograph from our heart space, the images created serve as an external representation of our internal landscape.
Connie’s three great passions are people, travel, and photography so it is especially gratifying for her to lead international photo-journeys where participants can open their visual eye and connect with their spirit to find beauty, creativity, inspiration, and healing.
