A note from Jim ~
There’s nothing that gives me more pleasure than photographing beautiful places and sharing my photographic knowledge with other people. Photography has allowed me to experience so many wonderful moments all over the world, and I never get tired of it. Today, with the tremendous creative potential of digital cameras and programs like Photoshop and Painter, photography is a lot more than capturing what the eyes see. You can capture impressions of places. You can translate your feelings about a scene into a work of art. You can do anything that you can imagine.

During my photography tours, I share ideas and techniques that help people accomplish whatever they want in photography, never tiring of answering questions about photography. Some fellow travelers want to learn how to earn part-time or full-time income, others want to understand their digital cameras more, or learn more about the subtleties of taking exposures in difficult lighting situations. Most want to create striking images that provide poignant memories of their trip. The discussions in my groups are always interesting and educational, and you will grow as a photographer in your ability to capture great images.

I shot medium format cameras for 25 years, but now I'm 100% digital. The transition wasn't easy, but now I'm so happy to be using this fantastic technology. This is a great time to be a photographer because the creative possibilities have never been as remarkable as they are today. We'll have a lot to talk about.
